KÜPPER presents intelligent monitoring system for conveyor belt systems
- Artur Küpper GmbH & Co. KG, a leading supplier of components and systems for the bulk materials industry, presented the innovative monitoring system "Küpper Sensing Idler" at the Exponor 2024, the international trade fair for mining technology in Antofagasta, Chile. Together with Artur Küpper, we have developed a system that enables precise monitoring of conveyor belt systems and early detection of potential failures.
Held every two years, Exponor is an important platform for the mining industry in Chile and South America. This year, more than 850 exhibitors from 30 countries presented themselves to around 40,000 trade visitors. KÜPPER used the fair to present its broad portfolio of products and solutions for the bulk materials industry, including the Sensing Idler System.
Intelligent monitoring for maximum safety
The "Küpper Sensing Idler" idlers with integrated Sensing Idler NODE temperature sensors ensure precise temperature measurement directly at the bearing - for maximum safety and efficiency of the conveyor belt. The intelligent idlers do not differ from standard idlers in their essential characteristics and can be put into operation without any additional effort: Sensors integrated into the idlers measure the temperature and send the data wirelessly and continuously in real time to a cloud platform. The cloud platform evaluates the data and alerts the conveyor operator in case of overheating. This prevents costly downtime and system fires.
